Greek authorities consider squatters a\u00a0bigger threat to\u00a0society than the rising fascist movement.<\/strong>
\nRecently, the Greek authorities have lashed out against progressive grass root\u00a0organisations: On December 28th the police shut down the Athens university radio station 98FM<\/a>, after invading the Villa Amalia\u00a0squat<\/a> on 20 December. More recently, the “Skaramangas” squat was raided <\/a>as well.\u00a0 We talk to Areti<\/strong> of Entasi\u00a0radio<\/a>. \u00a0She explains that although the community radio stations and squats were not officially recognised they had been tolerated. The authorities now\u00a0use\u00a0the current crisis to ” restore legality” and eliminate places of resistance against the current government policies.
\nThe strict interpretation of the law\u00a0does not seem to\u00a0be applied to the hate crimes committed by members and sympathisers of the national-socialist (i.e. nazi)\u00a0Golden Dawn<\/a> party.
