De bezetters willen niet dat INEOS het bos laat kappen.<br \/>\nMaar het gaat over meer dan boskap: &#8220;Als het bos van 44 hectare niet gekapt wordt, kunnen de <a href=\"https:\/\/project-one.ineos.com\/nl\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">nieuwe ethyleen- en propyleen-fabrieken<\/a> niet gebouwd worden. Verder willen we ook niet dat INEOS subsidies krijgt voor dit project.\u00a0 Er moet genvesteerd worden in een klimaatneutrale en duurzame haven, niet in een nieuwe plastiekfabriek die plastiek pellets gaat produceren.&#8221; (Noot: De eenheden van INEOS zullen geen plastiek produceren, maar wel de grondstoffen voor de productie van plastiek.).<br \/>\n&#8220;Er zal schaliegas uit de VSA gebruikt worden in deze eenheden. Er komt methaan vrij bij de productie van schalie-producten en methaan is een veel sterker broeikasgas dan CO2.\u00a0 \u00a8Verder zullen deze nieuwe eenheden zelf ook de CO2-uitstoot van de Antwerpse haven met 5% doen toenemen.\u00a0 Dat is niet de richting waarin de haven moet gaan.&#8221;<br \/>\nDe manifestanten wilden op de terreinen blijven &#8220;zolang het nodig is&#8221;.
